When will the Expo Line open?
The Expo Line is scheduled to open in 2010.
How long will it take for passengers to travel between Downtown Los Angeles and Culver City?
The estimated travel time is less than 30 minutes.
What is the route of the Expo Line?
The Expo Line primarily travels on the old Exposition railroad right-of-way. The Expo Line shares two stations with the Metro Blue line: 7th St/Metro Center Station and Pico Station. New stations will be built at:
  • 23rd Street / Flower
  • Jefferson / Flower
  • USC/Expo Park / Exposition
  • Vermont / Exposition
  • Western / Exposition
  • Crenshaw / Exposition
  • La Brea / Exposition
  • La Cienega / Exposition
  • Venice / Robertson
What is the total cost of the Expo Line to Culver City?
The total cost of the Expo Line from Downtown LA to Culver City is $868 million. The Metro Board has approved full funding for this project, which includes a combination of state, federal and local funds.
What is the construction timeframe?
Construction started in October 2006 with utility relocation. Major construction activities started in the Summer of 2007.
When will the design be completed?
The design will be completed by the end of 2008.
What urban design elements will be included in this project?
In addition to landscaping along the corridor, this project will feature public art at the stations, a bikeway, lighting and other station amenities.
Will trees and plants be replaced?
Yes, there will be extensive landscaping along the alignment. Various trees, shrubs, vines and groundcover are all being considered during the design process.
Will the trains run at street level?
The trains will run at street level along most of the Expo Line route. There are four exceptions: an undercrossing between Jefferson Boulevard and Trousdale Parkway and elevated stations over La Brea Avenue, La Cienega Boulevard and Venice/Robertson.
Will the Expo Line include soundwalls?
Sound barriers will be provided where required to meet Federal Transit Administration noise  regulations.
How tall will the sound walls be?
The sound walls will range in height from four to eight feet depending on the location.
Will parking be available along the Exposition Line?
Yes. Approximately 1,500 parking spaces will be divided among three stations: Crenshaw, La Cienega, and Venice/Robertson.
How do I find out more about the project or get involved?
The Exposition Construction Authority holds community meetings along the alignment. Meeting dates and locations will be post on our website.
