Construction on the Exposition Line began in the fall of 2006. Work currently underway includes utility and corridor improvements on Flower St. from Washington Blvd to Vermont Ave. in downtown LA. Those activities include relocation of waterlines, gas, power, cable TV, sewer and storm drains as well as roadway improvements, traffic control and street lighting. Utility relocation and trench construction from Jefferson Blvd. and Flower St. to Vermont Blvd. and Exposition Blvd. began in the summer of 2007. Over the summer and fall of 2008, street closures will be required to continue trench construction. The entire trench construction will take 13 months to complete.

The Mid-Corridor and West End portion of the alignment is also under heavy construction with the placement of K-rail, excavation of the Expo right-of-way, the demolition of the National Blvd. South Bridge and preparations for constructing the La Brea aerial station. All this work will continue till the end of the project. All construction work will be performed in accordance with City of Los Angeles and Culver City's rules and regulations.
